I agree that a 25-06 is not the ideal cartridge to be shooting elk with. Though i have no doubt that you will be able to kill an elk with it. I would recommend using a 110 grain accubond that bullet would do just fine. If you want a little more penetration I would use a Barnes 100grn tsx bullet...

Thanks for the Picture! I think that those bergers are a great bullet for shooting game. If you look at a cross section at both the berger and the amax they look the same. My question is what is the difference between the two except for one has a tip and the other doesn't?

A question that my dad and I have had is What would be the perfect bullet for dropping deer and antelope sized game in their tracks? We wanted something that would transfer lots of hydrostatic energy and absolutely smash and destroy the vitals to the point where there was now way their body...

I have a 24" stainless remington barrel chambered for a 300 WBY. Also a remington BDL stock that is already glass bedded. Also a 20" stainless remington barrel chambered for .308 win. Barrels are not shot out. Just need to get rid of some parts ive had laying around. Shoot me an offer.
