All the more reason to stay away from their complete rifles. The BA AR-15 barrels I’ve had (mostly match barrels) have all been hot garbage. They don’t have a record of making high quality barrels.
Personally I’d keep the 737 rifle the way it is for target shooting and build your 300PRC out and just run it for hunting in general and send the Stiller down the road. Yeah it’s overkill for a lot of things but who cares? Dead is dead. Or split it down the middle and do a 7PRC instead.

Those things are heavy AF for a hunting rifle and I wasn’t very impressed with the solus I played with in a store a few weeks back. You can get a PH2 for the same price if you shop around by time you pay tax and stuff on that rifle from midway and actually have a rifle that won’t suck to carry...
I have 4 Seekins rifles and they’re all phenomenal shooters.
If you want a shorter barrel but don’t want to spent the $$ for the Element or you want the steel action you can buy a PH2 in another caliber you want and for $550 Seekins will rebarrel it with a 21” Element barrel. Buy an action...
The easy button is H4350, Lapua or Alpha small rifle primer brass, CCI 450’s and Berger 140 hybrids. .020” off the lands and start around 40.5gr and work up to 43gr. You’ll usually find a node at 41.5-41.6 and then again 42.2-42.7. Varget also works well with 130gr class bullets and is cleaner...
Agreed. I’ve had a bunch of BDL 700’s and model 7’s in 223 and they all had feeding issues. Kimber Montana 223 was spotty also. The only mag fed 223 bolt gun I’ve had issues with were Tikkas, not as unreliable as the BDL’s but they would have problems once a mag in average. I’ve never had a 700...
You can absolutely use a standard top feed setup for NRLH, you'll just be at the same disadvantage that you're making the conscious choice to have.
There are plenty of DBM setups that feed smooth and reliable. If you stick to quality components, a proper setup and good mags you'll have good...
I’m in the middle of a fight with Bergara on a rifle that is total **** and even went back to them and passed their inspection with serious defects. Had to threaten legal action to get them to own up to their *** that I received.
They’re only lighter for contour. There are plenty of steel...
I’ll save you 8 minutes of BS, just start at 8:00 and watch this tool bag exaggerate the recoil and lift the rifle after it has already recoiled. I thought he might have rolled back on his foot or something from a bad position after the first shot so paid closer attention… NOPE. Was hoping it...
A lot of coppers need a faster twist that aren’t crazy long or high BC.
Regardless, even if you don’t shoot bullets that need an 8 twist what is it hurting by being an 8 twist? You still have the benefit of the higher RPM’s for terminal performance with any bullet you shoot out of it and it’s a...
It still amazes me the people who are afraid to spin a bullet because it doesn’t align with the old ways of crappy bullet designs. What’s going to happen, it’s going to have .1” more spin drift at 400 yards? But you can shoot any bullet you want and a faster spinning bullet has been shown to do...
Yeah but that reality doesn’t support the fantasies that so many like to have that the world is going to go to **** and they’re going to run around playing Rambo.
These types of threads are always good entertainment. Between the tinfoilists that think they’re going to take on a tyrannical govt single handedly with their poormetto AR while scavenging ammo and resources off the bodies of the fallen and the armchair survivalists who think they’re just going...
I’m looking to sell my Savage 24 22LR/410 that I’ve had for a long time to make some room in the safe. The date code on the receiver (13G) puts it at 1955. The Tenite forend is not original to the gun, it was missing the forend when I got it and that’s what I was able to find on eBay at the...
