I've had my best results with a purposefully built AR for accuracy Geissele match trigger, match grade ammo (77gr SMK - Federal and/or Hornady)
They are a good barrel.
All of the ones I have shoot very well. Personally, I'd rank them better than a factory barrel, but not quite to the level of a Kreiger et al.
I really prefer to not shoot shoulders because it ruins meat Midway up behind the front shoulder That’s my go to shot placement 6.5 PRC using a 143 gr ELDX bullet.
When I was 17 we went hunting on a friend's farm in western KY. I was hunting on the edge of a field and had a HUGE buck walk out right behind me about 10 yards away. Our friend had a buck mounted in his house that had scored 189" and this deer was bigger than that The light is beginning to fade...
I had 225gr that we shot 2 different elk with and both just blew up on the entrance side of the shoulder blade. They were shot at 100 yds and 500 yds. I'd go Barnes triple shock or step up for the A frame in either 225 or 250.
