    Anybody regret NOT going 338?

Here is a pic of my .338LM. It has a total of 6 round through it at the moment. When I get back from Afghanistan I intend on putting a few more down range. Rifle weighs 22lbs and has a muzzle brake.

    Major Problems

Rimfire - I 'suspect' my problems are tied to an experience I had several years ago at a range just outside Plains Montana. I was offered the opportunity to shoot a .350 RM on a very light weight stock, maybe it was the model 600?? but I don't remember exactly. I believe the barrel was 18-20...

    Major Problems

I’m overwhelmed by the generosity in assistance; thank you. I’m writing all this down in my field book to read, reread, and practice. Thanks again!

    Major Problems

Mostly my 7mm Mag (no muzzle brake) and a recently purchased .338lm (with muzzle brake). First shots are typcially pretty good which is obviously agreeable with most hunting scenarios; it's the follow-up shots that I start to have problems. Reminds me when I bought a horse as a young man and...

    Major Problems

Concerns for hearing protection may be a potential underlying issue. I lost part of the hearing in my left ear as a mortarman in the military and have ever since been very sensitive to loud noises and fearful of losing more hearing. I have had issues in the past with my hearing protection...

    Major Problems

At risk of being belittled and/or embarrassed, I'm sharing the biggest problems I am trying to overcome for long range shooting. 1. Flinching. For some reason I developed a bad flinch and it's hard to shake. To confirm the flinch, while at a range, I had a friend hand me my rifle without me...

    Anybody regret NOT going 338?

I bought a .338LM for various reasons. Probably not the best reason, but I wanted to have something that I knew I wouldn't soon grow out of or catch myself 'wishing' or 'wondering' if I should have gone with the larger caliber. How many times have we all done that? Maybe not specifically with...

Home in NH currently in Afghanistan

Hello all - I've been reading posts from this website for over a year and have finally decided to register and participate. I'm a novice long range shooter, but have ambitions of becoming proficient. Don't get me wrong, I can shoot and have always shot well and accurate, but I'm just not...
