  • Wildlife or Wilderness ? Designated wildlife areas are usually preserves where hunting is not allowed. Wilderness areas are foot or riding an animal traffic only but you can hunt them. Look up this in the California Dept. of Fish and Game website, sometimes hard to find but very informative.
    Hey Ranger Jim,

Had a question for you if you don't mind. I was wondering what the difference out here is between the national forests and the specific wildlife areas within them...Is there a difference between what you can hunt in a specific wildlife areas versus the rest of the forest? Thanks for your help "things were more simple in PA"
