Well, just as others have said, BaseMap has gone completely silent on me. Very disappointed in them on this front.
As for the Sig Kilo 8K -- I am still very happy with the purchase and love the way it handles data displayed in the viewfinder, and the speed in which it is displayed. Revic's...
Well, I am disappointed to report that Basemap tech support has gone silent on me -- no response in the last 12 days to two follow up emails and a voicemail. So for the time being, there is no solution being offered either from Sig nor Basemap; therefore I'd suggest that the remote marker...
Similar here. Most of the time the Basemap pin is roughly 40 degrees off of the actual, but not always. It seems to range from 10 to 90 degrees, but most land in that 40 area. Also the Basemap distance is nearly always exaggerated (i.e. When I range a water tower from my house the Sig shows...
Just an update in case anyone else runs into the same, or similar, issue.
Sig's tech support was not very helpful at all. Acted like I was bothering them with the call. Suggested I pull the battery from the Kilo and then re-calibrate the compass, even though the Sig compass and Basemap...
I recently acquired a Sig Kilo 8k and am learning to make use of its feature set. I am stumped on getting it to properly work with BaseMap! It is very likely some bonehead item I am missing.
When I range a known target (in this case from out of my office window to the local community college...
Well I ran into a deal on a nearly new Kahles 525i DLR and purchased it! Well within my budget and I like the ergonomics of it. The glass looks great in the house and backyard. Hope to get it to the range later in the week to really have a look.
Thank you for the tip. I have been poking around on this one: specs look good and the price is well within budget. I don't find much in the way of reviews. I'd imagine the glass is at least as good as the PR I have -- none in my town to have a look through, although I'm not that far from...
The reticle was their basic non-illum mrad (took a picture of the box description). I am not sure on the dials as I don't recall there being options, so I took a picture of those too.
Thank you!
I did in November of 2021. They said they have no parts available for repairs on that scope line; limited parts for the Tactical line. They sent me new scope covers out of sympathy for my predicament. They were very friendly over the phone, just unable to offer service -- I certainly...
I have read up on the Tangent Theta scopes, especially as PR was going under. They certainly are an upgrade, but I think around $1,500 beyond my budget too.
I did the "buy once, cry once" several years back and purchased a Premier Reticles scope (a Light Tactical model) that was at the extreme end of my budget. It was a fantastic scope, but last hunting season my sling gave way when I jumped across some rocks and the rifle and scope took a nasty...
I have had fantastic results in my Ruger 30-06 with the following load:
53.5gr Varget powder
168gr Berger Classic Hunter
CCI #200 primers
I am in Wyoming and have shot elk for 30 years with this 30-06; the above load for 6 years. Shot a 384 bull last year at 462 yards and 35mph winds -- he...
