It’s an after market Limbsaver recoil pad. For awhile they used a bad rubber compound that would breakdown I assume when gun oil or other compounds got on it. It would become sticky and look alittle melted. It still works, just not pretty.

Gotcha. 165 Gr scirocco’s have shot well out of my 308’s and other .30 cal guns. Kill deer and elk well.

Great choice. An easy upgrade for that gun is a after market stock. Several companies make them. Might be an easy way it get it shooting even better groups and might cut a few oz. off.
