    Weatherby Element - Turkey choke

Ya... Not going to use TTS. The Winchester lead #5s are good enough to 40+ yards for me and didn't feel a need to shot out to 70 yards at over $10/shell. I do have handful of different shells for testing including a box of Hevi-shot so will settle with what I have.

    Weatherby Element - Turkey choke

Thanks everyone. Not sure what TSS is exactly, usually I like 2oz #5 Winchester as that have been good in everything I've tried with previous guns. But not against searching for better so once I know what TSS stands for I'll grab a box to try.

Haven't actually shot the gun yet but plan to this weekend. Hopefully patterns well enough for turkeys!

    Weatherby Element - Turkey choke

Just picked up (well, soon after new 10 day WA gun jail) this shotgun in 12g. Anyone use this for turkeys? Finally graduating from my trusty and rusty Rem 870 pump. My first semi-auto shotgun. Also any ammo suggestions? I already have a pile of turkey loads but always looking to try something...

    Looking for 300 wsm brass

If the OP decides they aren't interested in your Norma brass please let me know. I have some but would like another box or two since I lose an average of 1-2 cases per 100 I reload. Just started annealing so hopefully that will help in the future.

Swift Scirocco VS Nosler Accubond & Elk

I've been using Accubonds for over a decade and always been satisfied with the performance. I continue to load them for all my family (wife and daughter) to this day. Plus Nosler as a company is great so I'm happy to support them. I did try the 150g. Scirocco when they first came out but had...

What type of bullet did you use on your last elk?

I've been using the Nosler Accubond since they were introduced and had great success with them. Shooing 300 WSM handloads around 2900 fps pushing the 165g pill. Wife has 130g from her 270 Win moving around the same speed. Most shots are from 75 yards to 322 yards for the longest with that round...

    300 WSM, 165g Accubond, RL-17

Got lucky and tagged my buck opening morning. Funny story, saw him at 8:30am. I didn't think he was legal (3pt. minimum here in WA). Then it rained hard for 30 minutes and couldn't see him. Then my daughter said she thought he was legal. Then I confirmed he was legal. Then I wasn't sure I wanted...

    How's Norma Brass?

I have 200 pieces of Norma 300 WSM brass. The new 100 I just got and reloaded and I'd say 70% had pretty tight primer pockets. Using the RCBS hand primer I was able to use them but they were pretty dang tight! Otherwise the Norma brass has been good to me. I don't have any quantifications on...

    Reloading for accuracy (hunting only)

Once you have a load or two you like shoot at the longest range you expect to shoot at game. For me this is 300 yards. I've seen more than one of my pet loads just go to crap at 300 yards and I've seen loads that shoot 1/2" groups at 200 yards shoot worse at 100 yards. So best to punch paper as...

    Accubond LR

I just ran the numbers. Looks like with a 1:11" twist rate (my rifle, not sure what your twist rate is) I can stabilize up to a 190g Accubond. Elevation seems to have an effect so if you are closer to sea level the calculater lowers the stability number. So if you are hunting at higher...

    Accubond LR

I'm also looking at the new Nosler Accubonds for long range hunting. Same as you I'm using 165g from my 300WSM. I just got a load I like with IMR4350 66grains but always looking for better. My range doesn't go past 300 though so I'm going to focus on that for now until I can get consistent at...
