Could you please expand on your definition of a full house load? I hear it all the time but I would like to know some pressure specifications for what is termed an unsuitable load for a 629? Thanks for any insight.
28 grains of H110 behind a 200 grain xtp yields ~33,000CUP. That pressure is well below 50% of the loads listed on Hodgens website. I respect your Ruger anchor but don't be a troll.
I've only loaded about 200 rounds for my 629. So far I've used 200 grain xtp backed by 28 grains of H110. I have some Titegroup that I use for .45 ACP and .40s&w. I'd like some lighter loads just to go out and plunk around with. What kind of load have you worked up with the Titegroup?
I've been going to some 1000 yd bench matches in PA for a while now. I don't shoot a lot but I do observe what seems to work and in my opinion if you want to punch paper or ring a gong at 1000 yards dub caliber cartridges seem to be the consistent scorers. I'm talking 6 BRs, 6 Dashers, and...
I think it depends on how far you want to shoot. At a 1000 yards the extra velocity of a 300 win mag will help beat the wind and you can also get bullets with higher BC. If you're shooting 400 yards you won't see as large of a disparity between the two except for recoil and the cost of ammo. If...
I just bought myself a Mosin Nagant at my local gun store for $80. It looks like a piece of junk but certainly holds some historical interest. The 54r cartridge would seem to be an inherently accurate round with ever so slightly better ballistics than a 7.62 NATO round. Does anyone have any...
