Does anyone use packgoats, to pack into the a country?

Is the early season in Colorado good hunts. Im thinking of unit Early 14,16,161. Also thinking about unit 75,751 3rd season. I will be going with my 13 year old son. Are these areas to tough for a kid? We do a fair amount of backpacking in the summer. Thanks Jay
