So far I've tried Magpro, Staball HD, H4831sc, and RL22. They all give good accuracy but RL22 is the only one getting 2970 ave fps. But it's virtually non existant. The rest are only getting around 2800.
Maybe I will try N565 or N570. I hear Retumbo is giving good results also.
Thanks for the update. I have some 175 ABLRs. I have been working up a load for my 7mm PRC using a combination of Hodgdon and Hornady load data. I was just wondering about the Nosler data.
I am getting less than 1 moa with several powders but not excited about the velocities. Seems like my...
59 gns of RL19, Nosler brass, 160gn Accubond with winchester LR primer gives me 2915 fps with no signs of pressure. My last elk didn't like that load. DRT at 200yds.
Same here. Only Alliant I have seen available is RL16. I still have some RL 17, 19, and 22 put away. But when it is gone I need a back up. I use these in my 270wsm. 280ai. and 300wsm.
Mine likes 59gn of RL19 also 2915 fps. 56gn of RL 17 is its favorite load but I don't have much of that on hand and seems like the quit making it. Luckily I still have a couple of pounds of 19 left.
How are the primer pockets holding up on the Hornady brass? I've been working up a load and after the 3rd firing have lost 5 out of 20 cases to loose primer pockets. None of the loads are over book max.
