    Rechamber to 264 win mag?

Thanks. Is the Tikka better (i.e., longer) in that department? I know I could pick up a brand new T3x for ~$800... What min length of magazine box do I need for a .264 WM, assuming I want ability to shoot big 156gr at some point?

    Rechamber to 264 win mag?

I have the same disease as OP. I keep trying to convince myself I’d be happy with something else - LGS has a brand new Hells Canyon Speed 26 Nosler on sale for $849 that I’ve almost bought a couple of times - but I just can’t shake the .264 WM bug. I’ve had it too long. Same LGS has a...

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

My pleasure. So appreciative of all the good info being shared.

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

This really has gotten me thinking (always dangerous). I have been adamant about owning a .264 WM, and thought I basically had three options: (1) Sendero or an old Classic (the the one mentioned in the original post), (2) Model 70, or (3) custom build. I’ll probably still get the Classic -...

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

Second stupid question - That’s true for any manufacturer (Tikka, Ruger, Savage, etc.) or just for 700s?

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

I had no idea it was that simple to “convert” a 7MM Rem Mag or 300 WM to .264 WM. I feel stupid for not knowing that. So there’s literally nothing else to it? Buy one of those guns, remove the old barrel and have a 6.5MM barrel installed, and voila, you can shoot .264 WM?

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

Appreciate all the input from everyone. I'm probably falling a little too easily for the whole "a .264 WM can't live up to its true potential without a 26"+ barrel" line of thinking. The new barrel idea probably had as much - if not more - to do with getting a 1:8 twist as it did with picking...

    Question - Rem 700 Classic .264 WM

First-time poster, long-time lurker... I’ll get right to it - I have an opportunity to buy a mint (<20 rounds) Rem 700 Classic .264 WM for $850. I believe it was manufactured in 1986. I’ve been wanting a .264 WM for as long as I can remember (literally decades...don’t ask why it’s taken me so...
