Most folks I know ID a set of parameters when contemplating a build.
You've identified what you want to hunt (North American medium-large game), where you want to hunt (mountains) and how you want to hunt (long range).
That paints a good part of the picture needed to describe your rifle. To...
You'd better save some additional money to buy the mule you'll need to pack that rifle-scope combination once fully outfitted for hunting back into hills. Best of luck with all that.
A friend just mounted a caliber complimentary 1.5-5X20 Leupold on his Marlin 45-70 using low Talley lightweight mounts. Ideal for stock weld/cheek placement. A very slick rig for intended use within the cartridges capabilities.

Whitetail aren't very heavily built or large down there. Ballistic Tip, Game King or similar would be my choice. If you must have a higher BC and a bit tougher bullet the ABLR or similar is an excellent choice.
Beyond the positive benefits of running a suppressor it does add some negligible weight and some noteworthy length to a rifle. However, in my opinion the shift in the rifle's balance is the most noticeable change for me. It can be adapted to, but in all four of the traditional shooting...
I've had a Leupold fixed power 4X on my 6.5" S&W 629 for several years that performs like a champ. No issues. Haven't wanted for more power having killed elk out to 110 yards.
Which is more important for you to reduce, weight or length? Your Banish 30 at full length is 9" long and 13 ounces in weight. In it's reduced configuration it's 7" long and 10 ounces in weight. I see many recommendations being made, none with length or weight specified.
