Odd Findings During A Velocity Test

I made it with n560, adg, cci magnum, 3050fps. I also tried h1000, rl23 but those where in the 2950ish range. I would think RL26 should also make it. 24 inch barrel

Help picking a 280 ackley rifle

My statement was solely that Fierce met his requirements. You can find some folks even complaining about seekins which I have had no issues with. If it was me I would go with a bargara crest ² carbon in 7prc, if I wanted a carbon 7mm. But that wasn't the question.

Help picking a 280 ackley rifle

With the twist rate you want and carbon fiber that really narrows your search I think the fierce carbon rogue is the one I can find in a quick look. The other carbons I looked at either have a slower twist or aren't chambered in 280ai.

Help picking a 280 ackley rifle

You have info on the cartridge, but what do you want in a rifle, light weight, fast twist, short, long, etc? What do you want to do with it. Those questions help answer your questions. I ask because as an example some 280ai's have a faster twist than others to shoot heavies or heavier mono's...

7 PRC Powder burn rate vs velocity? I don't understand.

24inch. Based on those temps i would think you should be good.

7 PRC Powder burn rate vs velocity? I don't understand.

A few additional things, in my 7prc I run the n560 and get about 3050 with the 175eldx, so the n570 may be a little slower than the 560 in your 7prc and possibly your 6.5prc for a similar powder type in different burn rates. Another note since you stated you are moving to n570 over retumbo, when...

Powder suggestions for 130 absolute hammer in 7mm rem mag.

I'm not positive on the 7 rem mag. I only have the 280ai. H4831 will likely work you just may leave some speed on the table.

Powder suggestions for 130 absolute hammer in 7mm rem mag.

I would guess for the best speed I would go to a faster powder. I use h4350 in a 280ai for a 140 absolute hammer. There is a spreadsheet roaming around here that would give you some good info.

What’s your five? 5 Calibers to do it all...

I personally go with the new loads not for the hype but the twist rates as they give higher bc options without custom rifles. 223/5.56 cheap and should always be avaliable 6 creedmore, don't have one yet but want one for antelope and coyotes, i.e. I look at it as a current 243. 6.5 creed...

    Downloading 7PRC?

My neighbor's 15 year old girl shot a cow with my seekins ph2 7prc this year and she was excited about its lack of recoil. She previously shot a 270 win. I have a lil bastard 4 port brake on it and it's a hunting set up but not super light. And this was loaded for me running a 175 eldx at 3050.

26” 270 rifle for mule deer

I would second the 6 creedmore or 6.5prc comments at any length barrel you are good out to 500 and you have a rifle to play with at longer distance. The benefit of these is higher bc bullets than a traditional 270 twist rate which results in less wind deflection (important out west) and holding...

    Which one?

I think you are on the right track. B guns (browning, beretta, benelli) for the most part with the addition of franchi's inertia. You will literally get what you pay for in those brand's models. If you do more upland than waterfowl I would get inertia due to the lighter weight walking. If you do...
