Any thoughts on an AR in 6.8 SPC? Ive been using one since 2008 for deer, hogs, coyotes, and varmints. Ive taken over 800 hogs with it and about 400+ MS Deer with it, no complaints and its very soft shooting with an Adjustable Gas Block and H3 buffer.
120gr Hornady SST and 105gr Cavity Back...
Where are you located?
If my guy has any tomorrow i can get you some.
they arent as cheap as they use to be tho.. last time i bought some from him they were either 24 or 27$ per 100. I use to get them for $100/1000 :(
German Shepard thats about 3 years old now.. very smart dog!
Easy to train and is very protective.
She does look mean when somebody drives up that she dont know.
Its nice to have a dog that will do stuff without speaking, just hand motions and she responds. She will even respond to hand...
I tried some in my .22-250 with 60gr bergers. I loaded a couple to try and first round cold bore was on the money at 100yds with my 80gr berger load so i went straight for 400yds and was happy enough with the results that i loaded up 50 more for my coyote hunting rounds.
if your still on the stevens barrel, mine did good with 69gr SMK and ok with 69gr PPU. but the 77s never would group good enough to hunt with.
The 55 and 60gr Vmax worked really good in it with H332 or H322.
I killed many a deer and coyotes with it. Furthest coyote was of my buddys hay...
i was getting 2975fps with 140 gr bergers in my 270win with H4831. Even shot a couple 600yd Fclass matchs with that load. Works good on deer and the shoulder :D
Nice!!
is it a 9 twist?
Ive had good luck with the 55gr Vmax out of my DPMS and bolt guns.
Should be able to get them goin pretty fast with the 24" tho.
Good Luck!
If you dont mind lugging around the extra weight then go for it. But a 16" will do everything the 24" will with in reason. its just gonna drop a lil faster from the loss of MV.
All i every use anymore is my 16" and good out to about 400yds.. Furtherest deer was 375.
I was out hog hunting one night last year on the farm and ran upon this one. He was trying to sneak over to the cow pasture.
one round to the noggin from 189yds. No hogs that night.
