    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

NSW To Get Some Gun Reform?? | The Hunt & Shoot Network We'll see exactly whats being proposed but it doesn't look good. Bulletproof vests and kevlar have been illegal for a while (to wear, though perhaps not own), will be interesting to see what they call 'military weapons'.

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

Interesting, I thought they did not receive any financial compensation. I hope your right and that most of it is just hearsay/rumour/paranoia. I also hope that it hasn't raised the profile of the issue too much, that just often just seems to drag in more people to lobby against firearms...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

Yeah fair call mate, each to their own :) I see your point about the labeling, that happens all too often over here as well, no matter how much of a reasoned and evidence based argument you make, there's just no pleasing some people. I just continue to hope (exactly why, I don't know) that...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

Yeah well there's always the hope that someone gets bored of pursuing it and the issue just fades away. Let sleeping dogs lie and all that. Like I said, just ****es me off that the noisy activists that wouldn't know a fact if it kicked them in the face have so much legislative and political...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

I understand where your coming from, however the simple reality of the situation here is that adopting a hard line with no tolerance for moving from your point of view just as a matter of principle would achieve nothing, other than having other people write you off (correctly in my view) as a...

Decent scope for the longer term...Suggestions?

Yep I see what you mean, its just expressed differently to most other manufacturers. Infact your description is more accurate :).

Decent scope for the longer term...Suggestions?

Cheers Scott. Not sure whether you care, but you may want to edit your website. When you hover the mouse over the XR symbol it only mentiones air-to-glass: Vortex Tactical - Razor HD 5-20x50 EBR-2 MRAD Reticle No biggie though. I think I'll be going with the Vortex stuff.

Decent scope for the longer term...Suggestions?

Apparently they were quite good those XOTIC scopes, but I can't seem to find them anyway. I noticed that the Vortex scopes are advertised as being coated only on Air-to-Glass surfaces, not sure if thats worth being worried about or not.

Decent scope for the longer term...Suggestions?

Hi Guys, I've just order my first two rifles, one is a .223 Savage 10FCP-K and the other is a .22LR Savage TR to train on. I'm hoping you can give me some advice on two things, mounting and optics. The main purpose for both rifles is long range target shooting (relative to the caliber) and...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

Interesting idea, would be good to get a large calibre long range competition going regardless. I would definitely be interested. Maybe float the idea with these guys: Long Range Hunting | Australia rifle training and Australian long range shooting They might be able to contact other...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

So you can't fire a .22-250 on a range in QLD? Hell even a hot loaded .223 would be pushing that muzzle velocity, especially with lighter bullets. Correct there, thats exactly the impression I got by reading the response from the SA police. In their opinion: * Powerful calibers can't be used...

    'Large Caliber' Restrictions in Australia

I'm sure most of you who are interested in long range shooting (be it hunting or target) or paying attention to this issue. Seems to me that its going to be effectively impossible to own anything larger than a .308 very soon: SA Police’s Response to Large Calibre Rifle issue. | The Hunt &...

    Something Different

Thanks for the welcome boys. I have no doubt it will cost me some, still, I can think of worse ways to lose money so I might give this way a shot first :) EDIT: Why the hell is there a little red 'thumb down' in the subject of this post?
