I have a SIII 10-50x60. It is an amazing scope for that price. I used it for F-Class and I could read the mirage pretty well.
When zoomed to 40-50x, you will notice a bit darker but still can see the target well.
Save me a lot of money.
Love the mini chassis, especially when your rifle is a switchable rifle. Take out the action and switch the barrel and then tighten the action. It stays at the same spot.
Yes, The SIII is an amazing scope for that price. Love the MOA-2 reticle. A perfect size for long range shooting.
It is at 700 yards. You can read the mirage through the lens.
Sure, it will be awesome with 190gr Berger. The 240gr is even better however it may be a bit too much for small deer.
Another note: If you are using the factory barrel, a long sleek modern bullet may not fit well. You will need to re-throat the barrel to make it longer.
I'm not sure if you are aware that 280AI and 7mm Rem Mag do not have the same bolt face.
280AI - .472" Standard bolt face
7mm Rem Mag/7mm WSM - .535" Magnum bolt face
How about Sightron SIII 10-50x60 scope? I've shot a buck at 166 meters with 10x. It is very good lens and nice eye relief.
Here is an example at 1000 yards. I believe the magnification was about 40x.
Take a look at Sightron Blue Sky 8x32 or 10x32 from Opticsplanet.
The glass quality is awesome and very good price.
I compared to $500 Leupold WindRiver 10x42 and they are pretty close but way cheaper.
I was in the same boat as you. I bought SIII scope and I was impressed with the quality of lens for that price. I decided to purchase the Sightron Blue Sky SII 8x32. I wanted to carry as light as possible and be able to see low-light.
I used to have Leupold WindRiver 10x42. It was very good...
I wondered if the store ordered a truck load of powders from the manufactories, does it mean that the powders are the same lots? (meaning that they create powders and shipped on the same day).
Yes, there is another scope which has more eye relief within the Vortex price range.
It is SIGHTRON SIII. It is an amazing scope and very good glass for that price.
Well known scope for F-Class competition.
I've been using Berger 105gr Hybrid Target Match at Precision Shooting matches and target practice.
My caliber is 6BR, shooting at 2930fps at the muzzle.
I decided to use this rifle for deer hunting and I shot a young buck at 166 meters.
At first, I shot the buck at quarter side on the left...
I have McMillan A-5 with Adj Cheekpiece and Manners MCS-4TA. I'm not worried about the hook because there is enough room for bean bag, rear bags or your hand to slide smoothly.
The Tooley MBR stock is nice if you have the front rest stand. Not so good for bipod.
