Howdy! 270 new to me and new to the group!

So update after some decent testing. For my 270 xbolt speed LR 1:7.5 26”, I’m quite impressed, specially with an older Doctor 3-9 scope. First loads tested were 145gr eld x hornady and 130 gr cx hornady. For the 145 eld x H4831sc provided fairly nice results of a MV ~2900 on average. 54.5...

Ever buy once fired brass that was so out of spec if would not resize?

I had this issue with hornady dies in an rcbs press. Used imperial sizing die wax along with some other lube (gunny slide) after a few go thru no issues. Had to clean inside necks as well adding a touch of wax to the first few inside helped throughout the loads. Mixed fired rounds, from one...

Nicely said Tim, true, but there are the far and few between in that generation gap that can’t find or reach out to the generation that does know how to reload or willing to teach. The lack of (knowledge, money, skills) or neglect to do something, in this case the younger generation is scarier...

I agree with ya completely, though my age I’m determined to gain more knowledge for myself and to pass onto others! Love the thread topic and was going to start one on reloading 270 win. Will have to read this thread first though. I will post my journey (learning, testing, and practicing) as I...

Thanks for the helpful tips already Dozer! I’ll look into as I’m still getting familiar with this platform (forum setup). As far as the powder sounds like I’m already on the right track. The process and fun continues. A non

Howdy! 270 new to me and new to the group!

Correct eld x not Cali legal, as Cali is copper only. With barrel length and twist I was thinking the 150 would be a good option, been hard tracking down supplies needed for reloads. Have various powders (Will look into rl 26, have accurate 1680 and h4350, h4831sc, IMR 4350, and H335) different...
