30mm Rings for a Picatinny Rail

Burris Signature Zee are pretty good, plus you get two sets of inserts. One set for 0 degrees and one set for a 20 degree slope.

    Vortex Viper HST<>Zeiss V4 quandry

I own a couple of Vortex products and have looked through a lot more. I think they are pretty good value, but I recently got a Zeiss V4 and if your budget allows, it is worth the extra money over a Viper. Now, to throw a wrench into this, with your budget, I would consider buying a Meopta. I...

Hard Rifle Case (at price point) input please

I have the Cabelas brand hard case and it is pretty good and goes on sale a few times a year. Monoprice also has a hard rifle case that looks pretty goood for the price, but shipping was crazy expensive to Hawaii, so I didn’t end up buying any.

    Getting my feet wet again

Lots of good advice so far. I went on my first backpacking hunt last summer so I'm not very experienced, but I will say that trekking poles are great and definitely worth the added weight and expense if you don't already have a pair. I use a pair of black diamond trekking poles. I bought a...

Best scope in for budget of $300

For the money and features, I think the Vortex Diamondback HP is tough to beat. Bushnell Elite 3500 and 4500 series scopes deserve a look, as do Meopta Meopro scopes. I think there are a bunch of decent scopes in the sub-$400 range. If you're patient, maybe wait until Black Friday or cyber Monday.

    GPS Watches

Anyone tried to replace their handheld GPS with a GPS watch like a Suunto or Garmin? This topic hasn't been visited in a few years here as far as I can tell based on my search. I want to buy a GPS unit, but don't want to carry another "gadget" with me in the field. I have a decent app on my...

Need help choosing scope and how to adjust for distance while hunting

I recently purchased a Mepota Meopro 3.5-10x40 from CamerlandNY ($350) and got a Bushnell Elite 4500 2.5-10x40 ($450) and will be doing a head-to-head review within the next couple weeks when I have the time. Either of these fine scopes deserve your consideration. They both have excellent glass...

Help with scope options for 30-06 under $500ish??

Just got my hands on a Bushnell Elite 4500 2.5-10X40. It has a second focal plane duplex reticle (although I believe others might be available), and capped turrets. I will be posting a review of it within the next couple weeks side-by-side with the Meopta Moepro 3.5-10X40. For around $450 it...

    Vortex diamondback hp

No need to feel intimidated; most of the guys around here are really helpful. I don't have any custom rifles and I just upgraded to my Meopta last month only because my Bushnell got a bunch of water in it (still waiting to hear back from Bushnell customer service). If you read my last post my...

    Vortex diamondback hp

Good eye relief and decent optical quality for the price. Mounting dimensions are tight; wouldn't fit between the rings on my long action Savage and barely fit between the rings of my friend's long action Remington 700. Side by side with my Meopta Meopro set at 10x vs my friend's Diamondback HP...

Meopta Meopro vs Bushnell Elite 4500

So I went ahead and ordered the Meopta today from Camera Land. Still no word from Bushnell customer service. When I get both of them in I will write up a comparison in a new thread, but I am not an optics expert by any means.

Meopta Meopro vs Bushnell Elite 4500

The reason I posted this was because my Bushnell Elite 4200 had some moisture in it and I sent it in for warranty work. I am thinking I am going to buy one of the Meoptas from Cameraland while they are still on special. If I do buy it, I will post a comparison of the two when I get my repaired...

Meopta Meopro vs Bushnell Elite 4500

Anyone have experience with both? Specifically the Meopta Meopro 3.5-10x44 vs the Bushnell Elite 4500 2.5-10x40. Going on a 7mm rem mag that probably won't ever shoot past 400yds.
