    Mandrel after bushing die size?

This is true of any die approach. It's buttons that pull necks, not mandrels. The mandrel functions to pre-expand necks before bullet seating. This is different and independent of your downsizing. So the necks will be expanded with a hardened mandrel or die button, -or your soft bullets. Up to...

any .470-.473 bolt face small primer usage

It's an abstract as any will fire. Best depends on the powder, flash hole, headspace, primer seating, and primer striking. All local matters. Of choices available, certain primers will provide best results -for you. So you should not act on what others do, but instead, find your best through...

    Hydraulic Form Die

Your chamber is your best die. You're not fully formed until your best die has set the form.

Great groups but not great SD

You can't assume this, nor can any sigma nonsense predict it. Barrels shoot what they do partially independent of MV variances due to compensation. With this, it's possible your gun could shoot as well at 500yds (MOA-wise), as at 100yds. Post#2 suggests field distant testing,, I agree 100%. To...

    Bore scope question. 6.5 PRC

Doesn't look like a lot of carbon building to me. I would be fine with it.

    Long Action 6.5 PRC

You could get a single shot action. Then it's length doesn't matter. Use a magnum diameter action to get enough barrel steel around the chamber. If you have it made for that diameter case it will feed correctly. You might consider a BAT action

If it wasn't for carbon being free to us, someone would be selling it to us.

    MATCH Primer Ignorance

I think it's easy to see primer choice as an abstract, with no prediction of results. Missed, is that the abstract in this is not a primer, but striking of it. If you have only a single primer available, and you suspect better potential from your gun, you could optimize striking for that...

    MATCH Primer Ignorance

You should try every primer that you can get your hands on. Hopefully one of them, could be any, will like your gun's striking & reward you for it.

    Hornady Threaded OAL/CBTO Case

Or, dump the method all together. Seems nothing but a problem for many here.

    Interesting primer seating tool

I don't see this as any better than a standard primer seating tool. Having mic adjustment gets you nowhere when settings are meaningless to realities. Nobody has matched (much less beaten) the indicated K&M. It's the only seater that actually measures primer pre-sensitizing (crush).

COAL using CBTO from Hornady OAL gauge significantly shorter than book COAL?

Why the Hornady OAL tool? To find touching COAL there is the simple split neck method, the cleaning rod method, bolt disassemble & sneak seat until the bolt handle drops. Then there is this Hornady tool, plagued with problem potentials, and forcing an averaging of readings.. A search here...

COAL using CBTO from Hornady OAL gauge significantly shorter than book COAL?

No, your COAL is whatever YOU choose, given local components (chamber throat, bullets). Nobody at Sierra knows what your choices are.
