Ditto on good bore scope and looking for hard carbon stuck t chamber end. Never had luck cleaning for hard carbon with chemicals. Something like JB bore paste always works for me. Don't get carried away, keep checking with bore scope.

Do a ladder test with powders you want to shoot. .5 grain at a time until you get close, then you can tighten up, up to you. On bullet seating, I would go .010" at a time until you find the magic, then you can whittle that down to .003"or .004" each length difference. 3 shots is all you need at...

I wouldn't let the bullet jump steer you. I shoot the .338 Hammer 285 HH .250" off with good results. ( 1 hole ragged edges @ 100 ) This is with a full case of N570 = best accuracy for me.

8" twist in factory barrels. Also, don't be afraid run a lot of jump if your cases are straight / concentric as in neck turning. My other 2 Weatherbys shoot good and my big one is at .250" jump.

With a 26" barrel looks like you need to stay with 124 - 127 grn bullets, or jump up to 150+ grn. Friends telling me won't shoot 140's as accurate as smaller bullets but, jump up to 156 +- = all good. On Quick load pretty obvious why. 140 W/ 26" won't hit a "node" unless you slow it wayyy down...

As with all computer programs, it's always garbage in = garbage out. Been using QL for years with great success. Now, having said that, have to say I fought loads for some calipers over & over trying adjusting BA etc. etc. So: some of the inputs that have to be exact to get exact results...

Didn't have enough neck tension. (.001"). went to .002" with same 55.3 grns. Velocities were not consistent enough. Headed for 55.1 or .2 grns. as too fast on the 1 series of loads.
