I’ve killed a handful of elk with mine. Disciplined shot selection is important along with good bullet selection. The 100gr TTSX has worked for me.

Barnes is owned by Remington thus thier brass is made by Remington if memeory serves me correctly.

I didn’t have any luck with mine. Sent it back to Leupold and sold it once it got back.

I’ve been in pretty much the same struggle. I just ordered a 3-15X50 NXS. I didn’t want to put a rail on this particular gun and with 34MM rings that’s about the only choice. I also didn’t see enough to justify moving up to the ATACR over the NXS.

Watch Camofire. They usually have the Ovis elk set on there. I’ve used mine for three elk now and they clean up good as new. The drawstrings are tough and they seem to work as good as any.

Wish I could say the same. My VX-5 is back in OR now for tracking and RTZ issues. Turned ito a real problem on a late season cow hunt this year.......
