I'd go with a 6.5 (260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55, 6.5x47 Lapua) as the bullet selection is better (high BC) and their sectional density (performance on game) will be better than any of the 'light' 7mm bullets with similar ballistics.

Sounds like the rear action screw is too long? If you hold the barreled action in place (with your hand or tape) and no screws, how does it cycle?

Saw them at the SCI show last week. Nice scope. It's a Leupold. No parallax adjustment which, I believe, makes it unsuitable for long range work unless your gun handling and sight picture skills are exceptional. I preferred the new Zeiss 5-25, but it also lacks parallax adjustment... Mike

My 7-08 AI XP100 w/Vais brake was very good for creating a 1 bench buffer or more on each side of me.
