    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

That's right around where I want to be. I'm thinking about 42.5-43 grains of RL15 behind a 178gr AMax is going to be just about perfect at around 2650-2700 fps. Hopefully I can borrow someones chrono and get it really dialed in, and then I'll just stick with that load.

    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

That's why I would back off the powder load. Ideally I think 2650 would be idea. I wouldn't use 210M either, probably CCI LR200. I'm not trying to destroy my barrel or the rifle, that would be a nightmare. As far as RL17 goes, I don't have a chrono, and I've heard it shoots a little hot. I'd...

    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

That sounds about right, but I'm guessing the Lapua brass can probably withstand a little more pressure than most other brass on the market. If this load is coming out at 2725 from a 20" barrel, it would probably be a little too hot for my 22" barrel, so I'd probably only load 43 grains...

    Weatherby Vanguard .308 Build

Sorry for the double post, but I actually changed my setup a little, too. I got Burris 30mm low rings, and I added the cheek rest:

    Weatherby Vanguard .308 Build

Well I finally got it sighted in at 200 yards, but I didn't have time to put a group together. From what it looks like, I think it should be a 1/2 minute of angle shooter if I'm up to the task. Hopefully I can put a group together this spring, when I have a break from school.

    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

I've been leading towards the 175-178 grain round. Around 2700 fps. I think that would be somewhere around 42.5-43 grains of powder from what I've read. I'm going to have to double check the Miller stabilization number of the 178 gr Hornady A-Max round as well.

    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

I'll definitely see if I can get my hands on a chrono because the last thing I want to do is ruin my rifle. I'm basically trying to mimic this cartridge: http://www.right2bearammo.com/shop/catalog/pdf/117.pdf

    1000 Yard .308 Reloading

Hey all, I'm about to get into reloading with my dad, as ammo is starting to get expensive. I'm looking for a .308 load that is going to stay supersonic out to 1000 yards. I was thinking of using the Hornady 178 grain A-Max bullet, RL15 powder, but need help on the primer choice, depth of...

    Weatherby Vanguard .308 Build

Over the winter and early spring I purchased a Weatherby Vanguard Synthetic in .308. I decided that I wanted to make it a budget long-range project, and I bought an EGW 20 MOA rail, Millett TRS-1 scope, Millett rings, and a Boyds pepper laminate stock. I also bought a Blackhawk! cheek pad so...

    Weatherby Vanguard Painting Help

I actually ended up pillar bedding a Boyd's pepper laminate stock with the Score High kit, and I put the Millett scope on it. It came out pretty much perfect, but I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, unfortunately.

    SOLD/EXPIRED WTB Howa/Vanguard S/A Wood Stock

I'm looking to purchase a wood (can be factory take-off, laminate, etc.) stock for my Vanguard S/A with a sporter weight barrel. As long as the stock is in good condition and hasn't been bedded, I would be interested. Please PM me here with any offers, thanks.
