    Horus scopes

The Bushnell HDMR is the only one that has it as of now. Its offered on Horus site only if I recall correctly and is priced higher then the Raptor. I have a buddy who has two of them and loves them but I have no personal experience with the HDMR.

Savage Bear Hunter vs Long Range Hunter

Most any gunsmith should have the ability. I have had GAP, APA and Accurate Ordnance do it over the years but I am sure someone local can do it for you.

Savage Bear Hunter vs Long Range Hunter

The barrel length is not the issue, I have friends with 22" 300wm that are tack drivers. The slight velocity loss should not cause a problem in accuracy. You can have your rifle bead blasted very inexpensive and get rid of that shinny finish and add a Karsten cheek riser just like the LRH for...

    Horus scopes

I happen to have had a Raptor on one of my rifles. This was an early tester R&D version of the Raptor with some different turrets then on the production model so it most likely is one of the oldest ones out there and still going strong. I ran this optic for many thousands of rounds on a .308...

Vortex PST vs. Leupold Mark II

I replaced my MK IV M3 with a Vortex PST if that gives you an idea of my opinion. I like the Vortex much better at the same price with the cost savings it is a no brainer.

    Does anyone know....

The one posted looks like an Eagle stock pack. I know Triad Tactical sells them and one of their own design as well.

    Survival gear

I don't go off a paved road without survival gear in my pack. To many people find themselves dead from exposure, dehydration, heat stroke and any other number of poor sounding ways to ruin a good trip for me not to carry it. Most times I am backpack hunting so I try and find gear that carry's...

    Show off your rig thread

This years group of rifles. Sorry my picture skills are not on par with a lot of the guys here. Waiting on a .338 edge that will most likely be my go to once I get some loads working in it but for now... My long range rig SS sendaro in 300RUM shooting the 208 A maxs vortex 6.5-20x50 mill dot...

    Backpacks?

I use the Dana Design Astraplane. I bought mine new maybe 15years ago and love it, it was very pricy then and still keeps its value with the cult like folling they have now. I really like the way it carries weight and the layout. 80LBS feels like nothing and I have to be careful not to overload...

    Mountain hunt daypack essentials

I can not believe no one has mentioned it already or maybe they did and I simply missed it but one of the most important pieces I would add to your current list is a compass. A GPS can die/freak out/hangup/get wet etc... Its always recommended to have a basic compass backup. Cost almost no...

    Alcohol stove???

I use the Thru Hiker sold by end2end that was posted on the first page. Works great and in 32 degree weather boils 16oz of water in about 7min. I like the jet boils and Msrs lot better if weight is not and issue but if I am going to be out for a while the burner/Ti pot/wind shield/ Ti spork and...

    Hello form GA

Just doing an introduction thread. I have been an avid long range shooter for quite a while but more on the tactical side. I am just getting back into US hunting after only doing Africa trips for the last ten years or so. Looking forward to this new side of hunting and pack hunting. I...
