My dad and brother were chosen to be on Outlanders Limited Draw last season. They had a late season rifle bull elk hunt in Arizona. They were able to kill a bull at 1025 yards and get it on video.
They are now accepting votes for the winner of the season. Please click the link and watch...
We have had great results with the 150 gr. LRAB out of our .270 winchesters. Had to back off on the velocity compared to the 150 grain VLDs but we have killed deer and elk very far and relatively close with great results.

This is my boy's first big game animal and the first elk we have taken with the berger.
.270 shooting 150 grain berger VLD 2950 fps at the muzzle.
This cow was 300 yards quartering slightly away and slightly up hill. Bullet entered right behind the shoulder and exited where the neck meets...
All great bucks! thanks for sharing. But your 2004 buck...HOLY BASES! What did those bases measure? Tons of mass on that buck. Again, thanks for sharing.
Agreed. My brother is shooting that 150 grain LRAB at 2860 fps from a 25" barrel behind 50.5 grains of IMR 4831. At 810 yards it was going about 1897 fps and hit with about 1199 fpe. The deer didn't take a step, just folded.
I could have been more specific too. The shot was quartering away, the bullet enetered about halfway back, destroyed the vitals and broke the off side shoulder. Decent penetration and performance considering.
He didn't look for any and I wasn't with him to look myself. Sorry. He has a bull elk hunt next week that he might use this combo on. He hasn't decided yet.
My brother shot this coues deer in October. 810 yards. .270 Winchester. 150 grain LRAB. Shoulder and vitals completely destroyed, no exit. BC worked for his calculations.
I am from AZ. I only applied for December tags and didn't get drawn. I thought about a left over tag but I just didn't have the time to squeeze it in. I work in EMS dispatch and work long shifts, plus I'm a full time student at ASU. Add my wife and 4 kids to the equation and I just didn't have...
