I have that scope, except it is the 2.5-10x model on my AR-15. it will be going on it first, but when I get enough money I'm either going to get the scope you mentioned, or an IOR Valdata fixed 10x mil dot scope.
OK, The Remington is $645 on www.budsgunshop.com
The Savage LRH is $850 on Guns for Sale | Online Gun Store | Grab A Gun Online Gun Store
and the Savage fcns is $630 on www.budsgunshop.com
If I am going to get something with a 24" barrel on it, I might as well get the Savage fcns, rather than...
Just to clarify, it is $200 more than the Remington.
The reason I asked about the barrel length, is if I'm going to get something with a 24" barrel, why not get a model 11 fcns? Does a stock, and adjustable muzzle break matter enough for me to spend $225 more on it?

Also, this will be...
I was doing some looking around, and I found this.
Savage 111 Long Range Hunter 7MAG Online Gun Store
It is a Savage 11/111 long range hunter in 7mmRM for $850. That is about $100 less than it is other places, and I'm interested if anyone here has any experience with these.
One thing I'm not...
Thanks for the input guys.
I started another thread on this subject, because for some reason this one didn't show up here for over a day and a half, so I posted another one. (I think my acct had to be verified by a moderator). So if your'e wondering why I have 2 threads on the same subject...
No one has mentioned Nosler brass yet? It seems to be pretty high quality in my limited experience. Although I haven't compared it to other high quality brass. it seems to be easier to find than Lapua, or most others.
I think I'm gonna give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, I'll send it back to Remington.
I'll post an update after I get it broke in, and shoot some groups with it.
I hadn't considered the savage 11/111 fcns. I did look at the long range hunter though.
I went to a local gun shop and handled a Remington 700 LR. I really like how it feels, and the b&c stock, and heavy barrel had me sold, until I heard about some of the quality issues. I read quite a few...
I'm thinking about getting one in 7 mm Rem Mag for use on deer/hogs at 600+. Is this a good option? would I be better off getting something else?
Here is a link to the rifle...
Hi. I'm new to the forum, and I am just getting into long range hunting. I have wanted to hunt/shoot at long range for a while, but I never had a place where I could hunt anything (mainly deer) beyond about 80 yards, so I had no reason for any long range setup for hunting. I am a decent shot...
