longrange with a 22LR how far have you push them

That's downright good shooting in my book. I have found that same ammo is sometimes the one that shoots best in a whole raft of rifles. Really happy for you with the results and for me because you published the results where I got to see them. Thanks.

Win SoundGear Electronic Hearing Protection - LRH Give Away Contest

Truly a great idea. The best solution until suppressors are deregulated and commonplace on all guns.

Give Away Contest - Bullseye Camera System

Kudos to Bullseye Camera System's response to Buano. Very properly stated rebuttal. Not really an item of this site as a specific but something you must deal with constantly. Opinions are neither good science or business. One of the things that must be rooted out of long range hunting are...

Give Away Contest - Soundgear Electronic Hearing Protection

These things ought to be right behind guns and cartridges in the necessary hunting gear column. Thank you for testing and bringing them to our attention and for the opportunity to try them out by just winning. Buying remains the fall-back option.

    Black gun rant

This thread has been running a long time and there are a lot of posts. I will admit to skipping three or four pages in the middle but there seems to be one point that has not been made. First, a little about me. I am older--75 to be exact. I like wood and blued steel. I am partial to lever...

LR low recoil 6.5 or similar

I can identify with your back problem, being 5 inches shorter than at 20. I found the 7mm Mauser to be a really soft shooting round. Not a long range round but that back might limit your ability to long range targets. Get a good Spanish Short Rifle and stick with old sights to make long range...

Controversial Topic And Poll: Brown Bear & Slingshots

Len, You gotta leave this open a little longer. I'm working on several aspects of the problem and may need a little help from some of the better placed crowd. I think the slingshot can be handled (I'm starting with a modified metal tennis racquet). Thinking aircraft aluminum for the...

Basic Rifle Maintenance - Part 1 By Vince Bottomley

Ohlsen, I have not found any evidence of a virus on the site. You might try telling your anti-virus it is okay. Has anyone else had a problem with a virus on this site?

Basic Rifle Maintenance - Part 1 By Vince Bottomley

Good article. I would have liked to seen a little more detail on the bolt stripping, even when using the specified tool. I also was impressed by the willingness to use "WD-40" in an area where it is appropriate. Too many go to the extreme: Never put WD-40 on a rifle. For this reason alone I...

    .44 magnum light loads

Trickymissfit: Thank you so much for posting specifics on loads. There are some people out here, me, that think a 125gr bullet at 1380fps does not qualify as a pleasant plinking load. I think that a 230gr bullet trickling out at 830fps is a light plinking load that I can shoot. 250gr bullets...
