    Rings for high powered magnums

This is basically what my friend was suggesting with a few minor differences. I feel bad for asking if he was suggesting overkill, but I always like to get all opinions and chose for myself.

    Arizona game and fish application?

    Rings for high powered magnums

I am putting together my first long range rifle (accumark in 30-378) and already have everything except a base and rings. I am pretty content with my choice of a EGW base, but cant quite seem to make a decision on rings. I have befriended a guy locally who has a lot of long range experience...

    Arizona game and fish application?

I experienced the same thing yesterday morning. I was able to apply for tags with my current license which doesn't expire till tomorrow, but couldn't buy a new license for me and my wife. I will try again tomorrow and hope that still gets me in the draw

Access to public vs private land for hunting? Beginning of the end?

I am a relatively new comer to the western hunting game (about 9 years), and I have even seen people in places that I used to have to myself. I am in great shape so hiking is never an issue, but with all the new phone apps and internet sites that show things (i.e. access points) that you used...

    28 Nosler Alaskan Moose

You should be fine. I have personally witnessed more than a handful of AK bull moose killed with .270's and 30-06 out to 350 yards. As far as I know they were all using factory ammo as well.

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

I hate to bring it up to you fella's and ladies, but I think that everyone who replied is too knowledgeable to work behind the counter at a big box store!

Setting up new 30-378 Wby Accumark

Just sealed the deal on a swaro X5i 3.5-18X50 for the set up. Now to learn about and make decisions on the proper rings and whether to go with a rail system? I will look into what has already been presented, but other opinions and links to information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

Thanks for everyone's information and opinions. Since I am impulsive, I bought a X5I 3.5x18 from a forum member that I believe fits all of my criteria. Now to start thinking about rail vs no rail, what rails to go with if I decide to go that route, and rings. Thanks again everyone-John C.

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

Do the recent models of z6 and z5 has zero stop turrets? I cant find a mention in the spec sheets that I have looked at

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

Thanks everyone for the input. I have always been a swaro fan (bought a swaro spotter and binos as soon as I could afford) but didn't want to be brand loyal if it wasnt on par with other options for this particular setup. Please keep any other thoughts coming

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

One other thing. When I was checking out scopes in the store last week, the guy behind the counter pretty much blew them off saying the tubes were to small for low light and the reticles weren't very good. I didn't necessarily believe him, but if these are issues I would like to hear about them.

Thoughts on Swarovski Scopes for Hunting

I am putting together my first long range rifle set up (30-318...there is a separate thread with more details) and have come across a couple of lightly used Swarovski scopes that I may pursue (z5's and z6's). However, I can find a lot of information on them, and from what I gathered from online...

How worried should I be about a scratch on scope lens?

I am setting up a 30-378 which is my first long range rifle. I had someone locally offer to sell me their ATACR 5-25 and the only issue I see is that there is a tiny scratch on the large lens that is closest to the end of the barrel. It is really small (about the size of a flick of dust) and...

Setting up new 30-378 Wby Accumark

So the person I boguth the ammo and brass from contacted me last night about selling his 4 eyar old nightforce ATACR 5-25 scope for what looks to be a good deal ($2000). However, there is a very small scratch on the bigger lens-it doesn't even show up in pictures, and looks like a fleck of dust...
