I personal,y have used a 22-250 Ackley Improved for prairie dogsl. I load to about rwhat a typical 22-250 will dol. I have killed prairie dogs at 850 yards and somewhat beyond with my rifle, but it is fitted with 1:9 twist barrel which allows shooting more long range bullets.
The rock Chucker is the most common press, but I still feel the Forster Co-ax is the best press on the market. Die changing is fast, no shell holders and it is very powerful and easy to operate!
Have you ever tried a Foster press? Depending on the operation, they have a very short handle that works wonderfully, and they have an extremely good power ratio. John
I really think that for rifle cartridges, the forster press is the best in the market. I have used one for probably 40 years and it never fails me!...and have a number of great features like quick change dies and great leverage!
To clean the brass, I simply deprime after shooting and put in a solution of simple green and water until I get home and then tumble with ceramic medium ands solution.
I have a c sharps 45-90 that I bought used from a fellow who had won several 600 yd matches with it! I have been loading a 540 gr gg Bullet over a charge of 74 gr of Swiss 1 1/2F BP. Keep in mind the 600 yard target has a 36” black and a 12” 10ring. Not for shooting game, IMHO.
