Hi Trueblue, did you participate in the 2016 LRH Elk hunt? If so how did the hunt go for you?
Len is still saying 85% success rate but it sounds like 50% is closer to reality.
Thanks
John
I'm going with a Vias on my 300WM.
From their site, "Recoil reduction of up to 50% is common with the large 7mm and 300 magnums."
I've used JEC Customs brakes on several rifles. They are excellent for reducing muzzle-rise for quick follow up shots. I used these on competition...
I've gone full circle on horses several times, having been around them for a few decades. Right now, I would avoid them. They are just too expensive - like a boat in a lot of ways. If you can use them a lot then go for it. But don't think that -buying- a horse will magically open up your...
DTACs are a great bullet. I used the Moly versions in my 243AI. A 30" barrel kind of changes the equation. So I'm not sure your results will achieved with a hunting-length barrel. That said running your rifle must be a friggin blast!
Since they are nieces, I'd first give some careful thought to what their parents have in mind for their future. You never mention them, but they will have way more influence on their attraction to hunting than you or any equipment they have.
I picked up this rifle in March 2012. NEW
It is in excellent condition, no visual or functional issues. That's an AIAX fold-able stock, a 20" Kreiger Fluted MTU barrel with 937 rounds through it. I shot 175 SMKs over Varget at 2630fps. So this rifle has been babied. Like all of my...
42.9g H4350, Fed210M, 2820fps shoots .4 <moa at 285 yards with FIVE round group.
Pressure test your rifle before loading, then drop down 1.5 - 2 grains work your way up.
I bet you find a load.
