    Go retro and find a 6.5x55mm, preferably a Sako 75. Top it off with a Swarovski Z6i 3-18x50, run Hornady 143gr ELD-X through it and you'll have everything you need.

    My Sako 75 Synthetic Stainless in 6.5x55mm, with Swarovski 3-16x50 BR-I 'scope. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit that will be rebarrelled when needed and then be good for another 10-15 years

    Don't discount a modern 6.5x55mm action. With Hornady 143gr ELD-X at 2,700-2,800fps, you'll knock most things over into their own shadow

    Why not ignore the herd and go with a 6.5x55 Swede. A modern action can be loaded sufficiently to match the Creedmoor and x47. Just a thought from this side of The Pond...

    I've still got my down filled UK MOD 4 part sleeping bag with a goretex bivvy bag. Every variation needed but not that light when you deploy the lot in full arctic (**** it's cold) mode...!
