Sory I just checked this message box for the first time.
Avoid the Henefer/echo unit during the general season. 20 yrs ago it was great hunt but now all it does is winter elk. You will find elk in the red rock unit opening morning along the north eastern boundary where it meets the Lone Tree Taylorhollow CWMU. It is an opening Morning game only after that there all on the private unit. I know because I buy the elk tags for the unit. Good luck in 2012

I hunted elk this week up in the Uintas by Spirit Lake and got snowed out. Tried lower (to Manila and over by the Gorge) but no luck. Thinking of trying the public land by Echo/Henefer. Any recommendations as to where I should look/hike/spot? Big boys are fine but I'll take a spike for the meat.
