    Rok Stock

Whether or not you "buy it" doesn't change the fact that negative comb has been around for a long time in both rifle and shotguns. The reason that most stocks don't have it anymore is that the trend of huge objective scopes and high rings, coupled with a need for aesthetics over function drove...

    88g eldm in an AR15

People have been windowing mags for a long time now. They work just fine.

    88g eldm in an AR15

I had that similar bug a few years back and decided that rather than try to stuff a big .22 cal bullet into that set-up, I would go with a medium-weight 6mm bullet instead. Built myself a 6X45 and with the mags windowed like you did, I can get an 85-grain Sierra HPGK to leave the 20" barrel at...

    338-300 PRC... Sherman Improved!

Do you have to ask? :)

Lets see some pictures of spiral fluted barrels (any spiral fluted Hart's out there?)

I have a 260 Remington barrel that I had fluted that has 4565 documented rounds down the tube. It has opened up from a .5-.75" rig to a 1-1.5" rig, but I am pretty confident that it isn't the fluting that is causing that. ;)

    338-300 PRC... Sherman Improved!

If you are in the hill country, then you aren't too far from Nilgai territory and the .338 Sherman offerings flat out hammer those heavy-duty antelope.

    What caliber do I want.338-350

Your suppressor will be just fine with a shorter barrel. I have the same one on a 21.5" barrelled 338 Sherman Mega. I am pushing a 225 grain Nosler AB at 2925 with that chambering. The Alaskan doesn't suppress as well as some of the others due to its smaller volume, but it does get rid of the...

    Have action need cartridge

My 338 Mega has a 21.5" barrel and my Rugged Alaskan handles it just fine. What is your big bore suppressor? The Ultra 7 would be fine with a 20" 300 Mega, 300 WSM, or a 300 PRC.

    338-300 PRC... Sherman Improved!

I used Preferred Barrel Blanks. They didn't have the 338 Mega reamer, but a couple of emails back and forth with them and a bit of extra $$ and they agreed to rent the reamer from Rich and chamber my barrel. It headspaced perfectly on the Tikka T3 action and as you can see, it shoots very...

    338-300 PRC... Sherman Improved!

That is a Ruger Alaskan 360. While it isn't the greatest in terms of suppression, it is very light in the DT configuration and reduces the muzzle blast down to tolerable levels when hunting. I have an Omega 36 in jail that will go on this rifle when it is comes out and this one will go on the...

Help picking a 280 ackley rifle

The carbon barrel will heat up at the same rate as a "pencil barrel". The difference is that you won't be able to feel it on the outside of a carbon wrapped barrel. Additionally, if the barrel is properly stress relieved, it won't matter a bit how hot it gets. There have been multiple tests...

    338-300 PRC... Sherman Improved!

Agreed. My 338 Sherman Mega is getting 2925 with a 225 grain NAB out of a 21.5" barrel. I went with a bit more of a "budget build" for mine, but it shoots great and is an absolute hammer. I have changed the scope out on it for a Maven RS1.2 due to the fact that the brass was hitting the...

For those who have done it...

What is your experience with Remage barrels? That was the question that you didn't answer. From a mechanical standpoint there is no appreciable difference between a shouldered barrel and one with a barrel nut. A barrel nut barrel allow for you to vary your headspace without having to do...

    Garmin chronograph

It really is. I have been trying to give my Magnetospeed away since I got my Garmin. It has killed the used chronograph market.
