BEWARE, Problems with Exbal and G7 BC's

Hi there, Just to clarify some points exposed on this very nice thread. 1) LB3 does not use the Pejsa method. 2) It's a propietary algorithm, with many extensions to Dr. Pejsa's method. 3) During the development phase, Dr. Pejsa was very kind to discuss the new algorithm math and that's...

Air Temperature Effects On Muzzle Velocity By Gustavo F. Ruiz

One more time, this article is all about Data Regression techniques, using the data most likely at hand, which is Air Temperature, used to derive MV as a result. Any other issues, like the ones posted are not discussed, simply because that's not the central subject of the piece. That's the...

Air Temperature Effects On Muzzle Velocity By Gustavo F. Ruiz

Seems to me that a second reading is worth the time... 1- Math content was excluded on purpose to make the piece more readable. 2- It's pretty clear and obvious that MV contains in itself all variations due to an specific load/firearm, as explained in the article. 3- This is not, by any...

Book Review - Applied Ballistics For Long Range Shooting By Gustavo F. Ruiz

Hi Bryan, Honestly, your work is awesome, I just don't want to think about the effort you did to write it, especially as you wisely commented, in simple terms! Hope you will surprise us with more excellent production, we clearly need this kind of insight! Best wishes for the best book in...

    243 win and 85gr tsx

I've had excellent results with the 85gr TSX on blackbuck antelope, guanacos and red deer doe. All animals in the medium game class. All of them went down with just one-shot at distances ranging from 150 to 600 yards. On the other hand, out of an out-of-the-box Ruger KM77 it's quite to...

VX3 Long Range vs. Mark 4????

I have two Mk4 (4.5-14x50, Illum Mil-Dot) and couldn't find any flaws so far. However, I agree that the TMR is possibly a better choice due to its finer ticks.

    It's ALIVE!

Dave, I gone thru the same experience years ago, with my Ruger Nro.1 loaded with 450gr Barnes X and later with a custom CZ 602 in .458 Lott. After one session I finished with a so much pounded shoulder that I couldn't use the right hand for about a week... May I suggest a great and cheap...

    Looking for a good gps???????

The models mentioned from Garmin are cetainly one of the best for our purposes, however if you want a basic unit, extremely portable and with low battery drainage, the Garmin Foretrex 101 is certainly worth a look. Of course, no maps capable, but who cares?:)

    On Paper Vs Ballistic Program

The problem I see with most of the "actual vs. predicted values" issue, is that it's never done with the appropiate parameters that must be considered, especially when it comes to long range. Every artilleryman knows that parameters such as the dispersion of the gun must be included, as well...

    Advise please

Dave, What I meant to say is that the horizontal component of gravity is what is really affecting DROP since the vertical component is always the same for any angle. BTW, the perpendicular component is proportionally reduced at the same ratio as the horizontal component. My apologies if I...

    Advise please

The reason for a "higher trajectory" is based on the "effective gravity distance" And as the incline gets stepper the "effective" distance on which the bullet is affected by gravity, becomes shorter, so the drop is less as can be deduced, in short for a given ZR the trajectory will be always...
