I am lefty and have never had any issues using a right hand bolt... I actually prefer it from a rested shooting position

My girl( live in grandbaby) shoots a 223 Wylde right now... I also have a Remington model 7 youth in 260 Remington stashed for when she gets a bit bigger...I think a Grendel build would be perfect... Good ballistics and doesn't recoil much... Plus...accuracy is there

Have a whelen I've never even shot. Barrel for my encore...guess I should.... Never found a need between the 338wm and 375 h&h... Guess this is an excuse to break it out.have a 3x9x40 Bushnell elite I can toss on it for a fling

There is no"magic bullet". Use what puts them where you aim them...bear are not hard to kill if they aren't charging

This is a .257 slug shooter i built on an air force condor. custom valve, 32 inch barrel, carbon fiber shroud, heavy hammer spring and 115 gram heavy hammer. i have had it up to 185ft lb with 85 grain slugs with room for more power, but i keep it throttled back to about 142ft lb with 65 grain...

Here in the east, with shots at 100yds average... consider the "lowly" 30-30". I only say that because felt recoil is not much more than the 243.. and you do not have to worry so much about perfect broadside shots.... a .243 leaves very little, if any , blood trail. the 30-30 is a bit more...

here in western nys.... we get more ny citiots than even you guys during hunting season..... makes me want to turn in my license!

you can kill them all.....i used to kill 100-150 or so a year here in western nys.....then we had a coyote explosion....now, i can not find a chuck unless it is in someone's yard... they are all gone from the farm fields, or at least so depleted, that i would not shoot them anyway
