Im loading 53 grns of 4831sc and getting an average of 2750 fps out of my Savage pred hunter and 1/4 inch 3 shot groups, I tried 54 grns but started seeing pressure, ( tight bolt). I wanted more speed so Im now loading 55 grns of H1000, and averaging 2830 fps, and still getting the same...

I know this thread is old, But I just got a new S2 Vanguard, and I took the Timney trigger off my old Vanguard SMOA, and it fit perfect on the new S2. I dont know why Timney would say that. The trigger area on the reciver is milled the same, there was no difference. Perfect fit.

I'm hunting southwest Montana next month, 4th week of rifle. I thought about getting a wolf tag, but after seeing how much they are for nonresidents ($350) I decided not to. It would suck if I got one now, and got out there next month and the quota had been met.

You need to get a cosine meter and mount it on your rifle. Then you can take the cosine reading and multiply that with you yardage, or your calculated hold over and it will give you your true hold.

Their web site says the 7 mm REM that they sale is loaded to a oal of 3.042. And the standard length for that cartridge is 3.029. I have started reloading again, but my equipment is old, and I'm slow at it. I'm heading to Montana this Nov, and I want to make sure I have the best ammo...
