    10mm handgun

Been using a Glock 20 sf using handloaded Montana Gold 200 grain FMJ flat points. Just ordered a Sig 320 Xten comp. The Glock is reliable but doesn’t point well for me.

Talk to me about 8mm cartridges and bullets

88 grains of MagPro averages 3226 with an SD of 9.6. I tried 84 grains of RL 25 and averaged 3196 with an SD of 15.2 but it wasn’t as accurate. My rifle has a 26” barrel which might help with velocity.

Talk to me about 8mm cartridges and bullets

Another big fan of the 8mm Mag. Started with 220 Hornady’s over RL 25 at just over 3000 fps but have switched to 200 Barnes over MagPro at 3200. 3 elk and a wolf so far with better than MOA accuracy. Hits like the Hammer of Thor. 700 action, Krieger barrel and McMillan stock.

    8mm magnum

Sign me up as a devout fan of the Big 8. Had Hillbilly Custom Rifles build one on a Rem. 700 action, 26” Krieger barrel with brake and McMillan stock. Very accurate with MagPro and Barnes 200 grain TSX’s at 3226 fps. Hammered a nice 6x6 bull elk at 420 yds and wolf at 64 yds this year.

Been using a Elite Iron Delta Lite and have been extremely pleased with it. Have swapped in around on a 17 TAC, 204 and 223.

Look at the Difference in Brass Softness!

I shot identical loads in my 270 Weatherby using both Federal and Norma brass. Federal brass was consistently 80 fps faster than Norma brass so there was obviously a pressure difference between the two makes of brass. Experienced the same thing with 17 Remington using Nosler and Remington brass...

VihtaVuori - Not much said about its use?

In addition to the powders mentioned I’ve had excellent results with N110 in my magnum handguns as a clean alternative to H110.

.204 Ruger for Coyotes, what is your opinion?

I use a 204 along with the 17 Rem./17 Tactical here in Montana as one of my primary calling rifles and am very happy with it. 95% of my shots are 300 yards or less. Have had very good success with the 35 Berger over IMR 8208 XBR. Generally anchors them on the spot with no exit and no pelt damage...
