If the seller is not an FFL, there is no registration necessary. Just ship the CA legal item(s) to the transfer dealer with a copy of your ID, just like most other states. Some dealers won’t accept shipments from non-FFL’s, so that can complicate things, but this is not a CA-specific issue...

Handymike, In .22LR, the Winchester offering typically performs much better than the CCI for me. Neither perform like a good lead load, but they will keep you legal. In .22 Magnum, both the CCI and Winchester offerings perform ok. Again, not as good as their lead counterparts, but similar...

This is a McMillan stock - Remington Sporter model. Inlet for a 700 long action, right hand bolt, factory Sporter barrel, factory BDL bottom metal, two blued studs, 13.5" LOP, and 1" Decelerator pad. Pretty much your white bread McMillan stock, painted black! Weight is 2 lbs on my kitchen scale...
