Wby Mark V ULW scope mounts

Take a look at the Talley rings. The one piece aluminum (two actually but an integral ring/base) would be a good fit on the ultralight, or look at their detachables. I have both on a variety of rifles including the .300 and 7mm Wby ad am pleased across the board. Dan

SOLD/EXPIRED New 6.5-300 SAUM dies and 7mm SAUM brass

My gunsmith took a turn on me and my 6.5 SAUM project went another direction so... I am selling a brand new set of Redding custom 6.5-300 Short Action Ultra Mag dies (less two dummy rounds sized) and 98 pieces of new, unfired 7mm SAUM brass. I am asking $75 for the dies ($138 from Redding) and...

Weatherby Mark V Giving me fits. Keep it or trade?

I have had two Mark V's worked over by Kevin Knight at High Performance Gunsmithing in Montana www.muzzlebrake.com - Kevin has recrowned, bedded, free floated, lapped the barrels and tuned the trigger on both. Both triggers are stock Weatherby and are a crisp 2.5# pull. Both of these rifles were...

A labor intensive 6.5mm that really screams???

Interesting approach starting with a 25 wssm. I am in process of building a 6.5 SAUM for the 142 SMK. It will be a 26" Jeff Lawrence #4 barrel on a Remington Short Action and McMillan Stock. The rifle started life as a .300SAUM but I just haven't been impressed with the performance of the .30...

    Need a muzzle brake compairison

Check out www.muzzlebrake.com. High Performance Gunsmithing in Montana does an excellent job of matching taper and finish to where you can't even tell where the barrel ends and the brake begins. They also provide a thread cap that matches perfectly as well if you want to take the brake off...

    300 Weatherby or 340 Weatherby

300 Wby - with a brake if you want to shoot much from the bench. I am shooting 180gr TSX's and 190 SMK's right around 3150 fps, the SMK a little slower. Both shot sub-moa to 500 meters with plenty of energy for elk out to 700 yards. Check out Muzzlebrake.com, High Performance Gunsmithing. I...

    300 SAUM

Good Bull Quiethunter. Quiethunter left out a couple of details for you on that load. He and I shoot the same load for the .300 SAUM, it goes like this: 168 barnes TSX 56.5 gr. Varget COL 2.80 Winchester WLRM Primer Shoots good and obviously does the job.

    Optic zone prices

I'll chime in. TOZ had the best price anywhere for a Nikon 6.5-20 Illuminated Mil-Dot. It was shipped quickly, great communication, and when I needed a new copy of the invoice to mail in for my Mil-Dot master it ws faxed right away. Great Price. Great Service. Dan

What scope power would you use?

I have just put the Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 X 44 Mil-dot on my Browning .223 Varmint stalker and it is excellent for this round. The scope is clear, bright and light, and Jon at the Optic Zone had a few available for an excellent price in the last couple weeks. Good Luck
