This fall my smith built me a sweet Nosler 27 on a defiance action. For what ever it is worth the 27 brass is more similar to the Nosler 30 than the 26 or 28. Nosler 27 brass and even the 27 ammo is still around. About 2-3 months ago it was a steal, of course higher now.
In Pacific NW Sportsmans Warehouse customers seems to have a very positive following. Do not have a Cabelas store near my town but been burned bad on line since Bass Pro shops purchased Cabelas. As a huge supporter of Cabelas for decades quite disappointing. So frustrating now just to try them...

Nice to know the H4831 is launching the 175s near 3000. Not sure if I will load them in one of my 270 Wbys but am going to in my 27 Nosler. Thanks
I suspect Nosler and Weatherby has manufactured their own plus used a few different suppliers like Norma and Hornady to manufacture. Seems to take a lot of research to figure whats what and gather all the same 270 Bee brass. With little to pick from anyway makes for quite the challenge.
270 Wby prefered .277 even with a new build 27 Nosler which is sweet. Just received a back order from Mattrix ( 175 VLDs ). Not sure if will use them in Bee for have been having great luck loading the Nosler 165 and Hammer 156s. For years happy with V 560 and IMR 4831 powder but hard core 270...
LRH members participation on this topic is epic!
Any and all action from enforcement agencies is great but the dreaded bullet of the outlaws is US users. Most of the bad boys out there are known by our neighbors, friends and daily contacts. Scum killers play the odds. Sportsmen and Wildlife...
Long time Rock Chucker user. Recently added a Summit and a Co - Ax. Both kind of non typical for longtime Rock Chucker users but each excel and solve different challenges.
I have owned a few 300 Bees. Hang on to that Japan built Mark V. Lots of great suggestions here. Your outfitter knows best. It is a catch 22 in that kind of terrain but if you take a cross canyon shot 8.5 pounds or more helps. Pack it and have fun!

Good for you loading a dated caliber. I enjoy trying a bunch of different bullets in .277 Wby and although own dozen various calibers have zero heartburn with the belt. Sweet thing with that vintage 25 is common powders you may have like RL - 19 , H - 1000 or V N 165 are great for initial...
Good to hear the .277 buzz. The 165 Matrix seem sold out so will be first time trying 175s in a new built 27 Nosler. Been doing my break in with the new 165 Nosler ABLR and fine so far through the 1.8 Proof.

Nice buck and great post!
I love the 145 Hammer Shock been loading it in a half shot out 270 Wby. I have been impressed with the accuracy now I have confidence in shock value.
My 26 N finicky but I found success going heavier bullets. Perhaps your extra inch may accommodate the new bigger and longer projectiles. It is a fun hot rod.

I see you have a 26. Just one opinion for simple forgiving start load is 140 ballistic Tip with US 869. Nosler book lists 84 - 88 grains. Mine loves 87 but the suggested start is 84 and was most accurate book load. Just Google 26 Nosler load data 140 & 142 grain.
