They are out there but becoming more scarce. Leopold, among others, used to make them, for example. All kinds of information on the net for doing the mathematical conversions necessary to use them.

Been around for a while and I can honestly say that THIS is the "Golden Age" of accurate rifles; especially if you consider price!

Killed so much stuff from groundhogs to pronghorns with my 3 that I wonder why I bother with other cartridges. But then the bother is half the fun! .270 is a fine cartridge even if the others are sexier.

Excellent post! As far as efficiency, the .270 Winchester is hard to beat and this proves it! My load with IMR-4350 is, in my opinion, pretty mild, going through the chronograph at 3050 fps. Your previous post was also very well taken....Dead is Dead!:)

This is EXACTLY the load that I shoot from my .270 and it is accurate! After zeroing, I kept shooting and put 5 shots into a hole that measured .579" OUTSIDE! I supposed that if you deducted 1 caliber, it would be classified as .302, inside. My first was a Model 700 ADL in 1968. I, like...

I agree. I use a Strelok+ app religiously....dialing or using the BDC reticle in my Vortex...sometimes you just don't have time to dial.

May have missed this comment in previous pages: How come the poll does not list "All of the Above"? Nice to read the various lists of equipment that members list but would really like to see how many use "All of the Above" in the poll results....IMHO

Great article, Glen! (Hope this reply only appears once since I was composing it and it disappeared in mid semicolon!) I have several friends that still use 220 Swifts for our rapidly disappearing populations of groundhogs but haven't gotten into our rapidly expanding populations of coyotes...

I can recommend that you DON'T try Steve Rinella's recipe that he demonstrated on a Meat Eater episode last year....cooked it hair on! Didn't taste like chicken. That being said, I read some of the posts that had links on them and it didn't sound bad...just don't think it will be on the table...

Got to watch this on the TV (embedded video issues on laptop) and it was a hoot! Loved the definition the thermal has; you could even see the throat action when he was barking at you! Keep 'em coming and I'll keep watching!
