For zeroing at the bench I use a gunvise. In the field I use a 6''-9'' Harris with a sandbag to support the rear of the rifle.

Since you already have a 300RUM I would choose the 7mmSTW.

G7 seems to be pretty good.

I have a Remington700 LTR in 308win and it is one of my favorite rifles. With Federal Gold Medal Match it shoots under 1/2MOA consistently.

Personally I don't think you would go wrong with a 7mmRemMag or a 300WinMag. I debated this myself not long ago but I ended up choosing to have a 300WinMag built.
