New to the site. Looking to buy medium 30 mm scope rings and a picatinny rail for a remington 700 short action. Not looking to spend a whole lot while going to school but looking for something that will hold true and stay tight.

How high of rings would I need on top of a picatinny rail for a Remington 700 if my scope is a 44 mm scope? I want it to be somewhat low, no more than 1/2 inch above the barrel. Could anybody help a newbie?
