I live near Norwich, NY. I tried a few different seating depths with the 130s without much luck. Same, or slightly better results from sierra 130gr. I think I have settled on 123gr amax since they're giving me a clover leaf @ 100 yds.
I could not get the 130 vld to fly out of my 264 M70. Seating depth, bullet length, and bullet weight were very inconsistent. Going back to the bullets in the greenbox!
I have been thinking about my first build. I have a savage in 204. Can I re-barrel?To what caliber? I also have a Ruger M77 action. Can I re-barrel from 264you to 300wm?
Would you consider trading for a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 264 win mag? 24"medium ss barrel boyds walnut stock and Timney trigger plus original black synthetic stock and box?
Ruger M77 Hawkeye. Was limited run from Lipseys. Was an All weather model but added a walnut stock from Boyds and Timney trigger. Includes original black synthetic stock and bogun)x. $650 obo. Mail me for pictures please!
I have a Ruger hawkeye m77 in 264 win mag. It was an all weather model. I had a boyds walnut stock put on and timney trigger installed. 24" medium stainless barrel. Comes with Ruger rings and original black synthetic stock. $650 obo. Email [email protected] for picture.
Has anyone loaded these things? I have them seated out to 3.45 and still not sure I have hit the lands in my new 264 M70. I'm kinda new to reloading so go easy on me. Any suggestions would be great!
Jackem,
I have a 9x57 mauser that was my grandfathers so I can relate. I would like to think the 264is coming back into popularity. I like to have something different than the rest of the crowd. Good luck resurrecting your 264!
Okie, so I'm guessing the 85s group well. I used w760 in my 24" hawkeye but other powder, brass, and primer suggestions would be great. Don't want to waste all day if those 85swindows won't fly..thanks!
Does anyone shoot or have experience with sierra 85gr varmint bullets? I have just set up a M70 and would like to try these. I have a 26"barrel with 1:9" twist.
