Thanks for posting your question. I ran into same issue yesterday with 3006 brass various head stamps not fired from my gun. Learned brass was shot out of a m1 grand. Full sized them and wouldn’t chambered. Used my head space comparator found shoulder was running 2.05+. Placed brass in my Wilson...
I would consider a muzzle brake and add a suppressor simply cuz your rifle is going to be a hunting rifle primarily. Don’t know what your state hunting laws are for suppression. At the long range skills screw on a suppressor and enjoy the best of both worlds.
Congratulations on your hunt and welcome to LRH. I agree with members in this forum on caliber of choice. I have shot elk with 300 win mag and 30-06 in the San Fransisco peaks to the rim of the Grand Canyon for the past 30 years. My personal preference is my tikka cuz of weight. When you add a...
I’m going to load some bullets after I burn my factory ammo that has large rifle primers and compare them to the same weight charges and bullet weight I loaded with the small primers. Then I’ll compare the same to small magnum
I am also a poor hunter after buying reloading components. Never owned a 6.5 till now. And thus my wallet went dry again finding availability of components. As they say buy once cry once. Your even lucky to find factory ammo in lighter bullets for hunting
Thanks everyone I will be doing my load tests on the powders you recommended for different Bullet weights and comparison. I’ll start in the 2800 fps and work up.
Recently I purchased a lot of small primer in the 6.5 CM lapua brass. I was also doing some research on the hammer hunting bullets. I read the small primer gives a better SD and if read correctly a magnum primer is approved for better ignition. My question is to separate fact from fiction from...

I purchased my Leica five years ago based upon price point. Their optics are comparable to those your considering. Warranty is similar with all models. Never had any issues for need of warranty. I use my Leica in Az and Texas for all my hunting. Use a very good harness to eliminate weight issue...
