tell the guy to give you 10 and see if they stabalize. from what litle i know you need a 1-8" twist for 80gr pills. 69gr pill would be ideal in your rifle.

for economical purposes i think a 223 would be ideal. send a 75gr or 80gr amax at 2900fps and you're good out to and past 500yards. with more than enough knock down power. if money was no issue something in 264 would be great as well. send a 139gr scenar or 140gr amax at 2800+fps and you're...

stick with the 150gr bullet in the 30-06 and you should have enough steam to get to 1000yards. if you want to use the 180gr bullet you had better be able to get the velocity up pretty high or the bullet will loose too much energy, even at 500 yards to is 200 ft-lbs LESS than the 150gr bullet.

this guy has a good method. he also recommends annealing before cartidge conversion/fireforming. YouTube - Annealing Brass

try anealing the case neck after you fireform and see if that doesn't increase the brass life.

Has anyone used the new nosler custom comps in the 6.5mm diameter. just wondering how well they group. i guess I can't complain at the price..but are they as good as the sierra matchkings/ berger/lapua scenar etc.. I know they're cheap but it's nosler we're talking about.
