I've never had any rifles I've hated but I've had 2 that I was very disappointed in. The first was a Ruger American 22-250 that I found a at a pawn shop 7 or 8 years ago for a really good price. It shot ok but I couldn't make myself get any warm feelings for it. I ended up giving it to the old...
I would definitely get the Diamondback HP at Midway. Despite the Diamondback name it has Viper glass but is in a 1" tube vs 30mm.
I've bought 8 of them over the last 2 years. Best you can buy for $199
Just so the misinformation gets put to rest, old powder does not act like fertilizer unless you fertilize your garden with plastic. Nitrocellulose is not nitrogen. I'm not sure who started the timer or why it keeps getting repeated.
I don't understand the complaints about slop in a turret press. The slop is built in and has to be there for it to work. As long as the slop is consistent it shouldn't be a problem. People reload some very accurate ammo on turret presses every day.
About any 140 gr bullet with between 41.5 and 42.5 of H4350 works awesome. You can also google the Secret Carolina load with H4831. Never tried it but heard great things.
Also heard of great results with a max load of 6.5 StaBall.
I have an ADL in 6.5 CM I bought last fall. Serial # RAR021xxx. It's been a solid shooter. I have about 150 rounds through it and it's been a solid 1 1/4" or better shooter. Those were with all hand loads and most doing work ups with different powders.
I did put a TT trigger I had laying around...
I don't believe someone caught a bolt in the face from a R700. It would take too many failures. Think of how a bolt Is locked and what holds it. And if someone did it would you would read about it all over.
This was supposed to reply to an earlier comment but somehow didn't
I have an 8lb jug of H322 for 6.8 SPC and light Grendel bullets. It actually works well for light bullets in several calibers.
I kept reading that people liked it for heavies in .223 so I decided to try it. It's magic. Not the fastest but very accurate at around 22-23 gr for 69 and 77s
I'm a little late to the conversation but I have the FA and really like it.
I started with the lee in a drill years ago. It was slow and you still needed to chamfer inside and out.
I also have a Hornady manual trimmer. It's also slow.
I used a Worlds Cheapest Trimmet off eBay for several...
I hate to say this but I don't believe most of you on here. I think most are thinking your best guns can be used for hunting. Nobody is using a 15 lb custom rig for hunting.
You may have guns that shoot really well. You may have firearms that you have spent a lot of money on that shoot 3/8""...
As said before it's your chamber. I debated the same thing about dies. Ended up with 4 sets for 6.5 CM. I have a few CMs so it works out.. Here it goes as far as seaters.
I bought Redding premium series set with micrometer seating stem, A Forster set with micrometer seating stem, Hornady and...
