An environmentalist agreed to fly helicopters and let food go to waste? I hate that this doesn't surprise me.
If they issued tags and let people eat them, then we'd buy less meat from the farms they complain about.
Instead of reducing "waste" they seem to prefer more CO2 emissions.
Check your local laws before trying anything. Here's what I recommend starting with what's likely the most effective to least effective for clearing your land of them:
1. Trapping. Pros: they work when you aren't even around and there are reliable good quality ones for sale. These work best if...
Wow! Thanks for the pointers. I was wondering about how useful the bowl connections were, and now I know. One thing I just read was that the clamps (like DeathGrip) work best if the sides of the rifle are flat. Is that true? We mostly use traditional bolt guns. Do you know of a way to attach an...
I hope you have many more years in the woods! I've seen several posts about BOG and InReach. I'll definitely be digging into the different types of each.
Some examples would be great! I'm making a list of some of the recommendations. I'll show them to my brother next weekend so that we can start figuring out what would work.
Thanks. I'm kicking myself for not going mule deer hunting with him years ago. I'd love to have a memory like this of him.
Going prone might be an issue for him. Also, if we end up in grass more than a few inches tall then that might be an issue anyway.
I haven't heard of essential tremor before. I'll have him look into that.
We don't have emergency communication yet. That's one of a couple things we are looking into.
Thanks!
My dad is in his 80s and his hands shake so much that he's having trouble hitting deer passed 100 yards. My oldest brother and I are buying Wyoming antelope points for us and (secretly) him. He's tough and active, so we think he'll be able to walk the terrain that antelope live in. We plan to...
For starters, I love seeing these responses! I'm asking myself the same questions. I do like the 7mm-08 because it shoots flatter and any bullet weight I'd use in 308 I can also get in 7mm-08.
But I'm still looking at 308 because:
1. Ammo of every kind is available and affordable.
2. There's...
Magnets!
I drop the pins almost everything I clean a batch, and I'm always worried a pin might be stuck to the inside.
After they dry, I pass each piece of brass over some strong rare earth magnets to make sure there aren't any stuck to the inside.
Pick up a magnetic bar or two from harbor...
Why not just use a long action for those calibers? There's only a tiny weight difference, you don't need to redesign anything, and it's even more future proof as even longer bullets are going to be made. So what would the downside of using a long action be?
I really wish manufacturers offered "variety packs" for reloaders who don't know what their rifle likes. I hate having to buy 50 just to find out within the first ten that they don't group well.
