I bought my daughter bear repellent, because she gets off work at night sometimes. She can carry it legally and it shoots a long way, even into the wind.

i don't want to open a can worms here, but if you were going bear hunting, black bear for now, but maybe grizzly later and you had your choice between a Remington 700 in 30-06 or 7 mm, which would you take?

I would go with the Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum. I have one and I wouldn't worry about it stopping anything that walks. The kick is not as bad as people say, even on my short 4 inch barreled model. I've shot it one handed several times. It's also very accurate.

I have a Remington 700 CDL 30 06 that I bought a few months ago. I haven't had any problems with it. The mechanics seem great and the fit and finish are beautiful. Some people have had posted problems, but I haven't had any. I haven't had time to put a ton of rounds through it yet, but so far...

I have been setting it for my rifle and ammo. It's pretty easy to use.

Have any of you used the ISnipe ballistics calculator for iPhone, iPad and IPod? If so, what do you think of it? I bought it today, it seems pretty nice.
